Tesla's Austin, Texas Die Shop is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their innovative team. The ideal candidate brings over a decade of CNC mill programming experience, with specific expertise in 5-axis programming and die machining. Responsibilities For CNC Programmer, Die Shop

  • Program 5-axis CNC Mills in a low-volume / high-mix workflow
  • Prepare operator documents and prove out programs on the floor with machinists
  • Work closely with engineers to provide input on design for manufacturability
  • Machine complex components to tight tolerances in various materials with tight deadlines
  • Use various inspection and measurement tools to validate work
  • Track and document machining processes and results
  • Provide feedback to engineers, machinists and programmers on design and process improvement

Requirements For CNC Programmer, Die Shop

  • 10+ years of CNC mill programming experience
  • 4+ years of 5 axis programming experience
  • Proficient with basic shop tools and machines
  • CAD/CAM programming with hyperMILL
  • Experience with Heidenhain CNC controls
  • Experience machining dies
  • CAD experience with CATIA V5
