Responsibilities For Controls Engineer, Body in White, Semi

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts using data-driven solutions
  • Support production ramp-up by troubleshooting mechanical automation equipment, PLCs, robots, motion controls, and vision systems
  • Develop and maintain PLCs and HMI software
  • Create and approve electrical schematics
  • Provide guidance as a SME for PLC logic or robot logic updates
  • Address equipment issues and troubleshoot PLCs
  • Drive continuous improvement of automated equipment
  • Conduct risk assessments and lead safety evaluations
  • Support 24/7 production operations as needed

Requirements For Controls Engineer, Body in White, Semi

Python
Java
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a mechanical/manufacturing controls engineer
  • Advanced proficiency in programming industrial equipment using IEC 61131-3 languages
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, SICAR protocol) and Safety PLCs
  • Proficiency in Human Machine Interface (HMI)/SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of Ethernet communications, script-based programming
  • Ability to select and integrate circuit protectors, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware
  • Preferred experience in programming robots
  • Proven troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis, and problem-solving
