Tesla's Cell Software team is seeking a Data Engineer to support automation of reports and actions for the 4680 Cell Program. This role involves automating production reporting, defect prediction, advanced statistics, maintaining data pipelines/databases, and creating live visualization tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing manufacturing, equipment, and product field data to extract insights and drive improvements
- Conducting end-to-end analyses from data gathering to modeling
- Monitoring key manufacturing metrics and understanding root causes of changes
- Interpreting data, analyzing results, and providing ongoing reports
- Identifying trends in complex data sets and creating dashboards
- Maintaining data visualizations, pipelines, and enhancing dashboards
- Managing databases and data systems for operational and exploratory analysis
- Investigating potential system issues using data-driven approaches
- Performing data quality validations
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics)
- 2+ years of experience with Python or Go-Lang
- 2+ years of SQL database query experience
- 2+ years of experience building analytical dashboards
- 1+ year of Git experience
- Knowledge of data communication protocols
- Strong analytical and communication skills
