Responsibilities For Distributed Database Engineer, Infrastructure
- Implement optimal Systems Architectures and Software Design
- Push the performance limits of hardware with understanding of CPU architecture and Networking
- Implement low-level, cache and pipeline friendly, ultra-high performance code
- Rigorously benchmark and analyze distributed systems for performance and correctness
- Collaborate with global datacenter, cloud, networking, and load balancing teams
- Contribute to test automation, continuous deployment, and configuration management
- Work with InfoSec on reinforcing secure by default
- Author technical documentation, reference architectures, policies, and best practices
Requirements For Distributed Database Engineer, Infrastructure
- Proficiency with at least 2 low-level programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust
- Expert knowledge of distributed database engine development, query engine design, and low-level performance optimization
- Experience with applied mathematics, distributed algorithms, and Internet-scale data platform software engineering
- Working knowledge of DPDK & SPDK is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or proof of exceptional skills
