Tesla is seeking a talented Electrical & Software Engineer to join their Low Voltage Software Team. This interdisciplinary role combines electrical engineering and software development to create hardware and software frameworks for automated design validation of Tesla's vehicle and Optimus products. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in both automotive and robotics domains.

The role involves designing test racks and software for automated validation, developing low-level IC drivers, and creating custom electronics for testing Tesla products. You'll work alongside design teams to ensure timely release of testing & automation solutions, with your work being utilized in both high-volume manufacturing and unit-level testing scenarios.

This position is perfect for someone who combines strong electrical engineering fundamentals with software development skills, particularly in Python and Linux environments. The compensation package is highly competitive, ranging from $92,000 to $186,000 annually, plus additional cash and stock awards. Responsibilities For Electrical & Software Engineer, Low Voltage

  • Design test racks & software for automated validation of vehicle & Optimus electronics
  • Interface with firmware teams to define test implementation and automation features
  • Develop low level IC drivers using protocols such as SPI, I2C and LIN
  • Root cause problems between firmware, hardware and custom test hardware
  • Understand IC electrical capabilities, fault behavior and diagnostic features
  • Design custom electronics designed to be used as test equipment for tesla products

Requirements For Electrical & Software Engineer, Low Voltage

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Software experience via medium to large projects or equivalent
  • Experience designing, prototyping and debugging PCBs
  • Programming skills in Python, or Golang (or similar)
  • Demonstrate a very good understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with low voltage power distribution
  • Experience using or testing brushless motors
