Description For Electrical Test Engineer, Vehicle Controller, Semi

Tesla is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join their diverse and enthusiastic team working on vehicle controller systems for their Semi program. This role is integral to Tesla's mission of accelerating sustainable energy adoption through electric vehicles. As part of the Low Voltage Electronic Systems (LVES) hardware team, you'll collaborate across multiple disciplines to validate and ensure product reliability throughout the development cycle.

  • Drive hardware validation efforts for LV/ES programs
  • Develop and maintain test automation software
  • Design and build custom test equipment
  • Manage tests from development through execution
  • Coordinate test resources and maintain validation schedules
  • Work with design partners, reliability team, and suppliers to root cause test failures

Requirements For Electrical Test Engineer, Vehicle Controller, Semi

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven technical experience through internships, industry, passion projects, academic activities
  • Experience using standard lab equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, o-scopes, DMM's)
  • Coding experience, preferably Python, for test automation and data post-processing
  • Demonstrated experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems
  • Hands-on approach and ability to automate repeatable tasks
