Description For Electronic Design Engineer, New Programs Engineering

Tesla is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join their New Programs Engineering team, working at the forefront of vehicle design and development. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Tesla's future generation of vehicles through iterative design, simulation, and prototyping processes.

The position involves close collaboration with Design, Vehicle Engineering, and Powertrain Engineering teams, focusing on creating various prototypes for engineering development. The ideal candidate will bring a first-principles approach to problem-solving and strong product design expertise, rather than requiring extensive automotive industry experience.

As an Electronic Design Engineer, you'll take ownership of harness designs for prototype and early-phase vehicle programs, including electrical schematics and system diagrams. You'll be responsible for documenting build instructions, collaborating with various engineering teams, and supporting firmware and technician teams in system debugging. The role also involves PCB hardware design to support electrical subsystem integration.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $84,000 to $186,000 annually, plus cash and stock awards. Tesla provides comprehensive benefits including medical plans with zero payroll deduction, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with employer match, and various family-support benefits.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to work on cutting-edge electric vehicle technology at one of the world's most innovative automotive companies. The role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving, offering the chance to directly impact the development of Tesla's future vehicles while working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
