Description For Engineering Technician

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is crucial for building, reworking, and maintaining service and installation tooling for commercial and residential energy products. Responsibilities For Engineering Technician

  • Lead prototype fabrication workstream – sourcing of parts, fabrication, and testing
  • Build Mechanical & Electrical tooling assemblies & subassemblies & carry out validation
  • Lead field trials of prototype tools and procedures
  • Carry out RCA on faulty incoming tools from the field
  • Manage inventory of tools – handle purchase orders and ensure stock inventory
  • General shop maintenance & upkeep
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements For Engineering Technician

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Use of MS Office tools and other systems (Excel, PowerPoint, Jira)
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Basic fabrication use of bandsaws, drill press, mig or tig welder
  • Experience working with CNC lathe and mill
