Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Battery Cell team, focusing on testing and validation of critical components for all Tesla products. This role combines hands-on technical work with state-of-the-art battery technology in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The position involves working with specialized equipment to conduct thorough testing of cells, modules, and battery packs, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met before reaching customers.

Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Abuse Test & Engineering

  • Utilize specialized equipment to test and validate cells, modules, battery packs and related components
  • Perform complex destructive testing and gather data from various sensors
  • Perform teardown inspection post-testing and gather data for analysis
  • Maintain test equipment and data collection tools
  • Perform periodic maintenance, calibration, and repairs
  • Troubleshoot data acquisition systems and sensors
  • Collaborate with other teams on sample build, preparation, and instrumentation
  • Follow and edit standard operating procedures

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Abuse Test & Engineering

  • High awareness of safety hazards, procedures, and best practices
  • Experience with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Ability to learn new test procedures and software
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Eager to learn, independently motivated, and proactive
