Description For Engineering Technician, Cell Cathode Engineering

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician for their Cell Cathode Engineering team in Fremont, California. This role is integral to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. The position involves hands-on laboratory work focusing on materials development and evaluation for innovative cell products.

The ideal candidate will conduct daily testing on various materials and report findings to engineers for analysis. Key responsibilities include material characterization using advanced techniques like acid base titration, BET, SEM, and XRD, as well as electrochemical characterization through electrode synthesis and lithium-ion cell prototype assembly.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable energy technology, with competitive compensation ranging from $24.40 to $56.40 per hour, plus additional cash and stock awards.   • Conduct general characterization of powder materials using various techniques
  • Perform electrochemical characterization of powder materials
  • Process and manage data using data systems
  • Assist in testing parameters optimization and new methods development
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment
  • Draft SOPs and prepare experiment reports

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Cell Cathode Engineering

  • Hands-on experience working in chemistry or biology labs
  • Experience calibrating and maintaining equipment
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently
  • Meticulous attitude towards data tracking and communication
  • Ability to collaborate and take on challenges
