Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Automation Development Engineering

Tesla's Manufacturing Automation Development Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to build, troubleshoot, and improve custom automation projects at Tesla's world-class manufacturing facilities. This role is crucial in reducing cost, increasing capacity, and delivering quality manufacturing equipment for Tesla's cutting-edge products. The position is based in Buffalo, New York, offering an exciting opportunity to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their hands-on work, craftsmanship, organizational skills, and attention to detail. The role involves assembly of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic manufacturing equipment, as well as prototype equipment for engineering R&D. Other responsibilities include rigging, locating, alignment, and leveling of equipment, executing tasks independently, collaborating with other technician teams, and direct interaction with cross-functional engineer teams.

Key requirements include experience in assembling equipment from mechanical engineering drawings, proficiency in reading electrical schematics and wiring electrical control panels, experience with common manufacturing devices, knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems, hands-on machining experience, and excellent communication skills.
