Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Passive Safety
- Prepare test vehicles to match desired test configurations
- Install data acquisition equipment and sensors
- Installation/removal of vehicle test fixtures, lab equipment, and ballast weights
- Maintain sensor library, sensor repair, and coordinate calibration activities
- Design and create custom brackets, wire harnesses and fixtures
- Setup and deploy high-speed cameras and lighting for test setups
- Maintain and repair test equipment
- Maintain laboratory environment
- Prepare vehicle components for flammability testing
- Prepare and repair test vehicles for driving and durability tests
Requirements For Engineering Technician, Passive Safety
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, and replacing components on passenger vehicles
- Ability to operate hand/power tools and shop equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in tight spaces
- Work outdoors in Austin temperatures year-round
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Tesla diagnostics tools)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to operate diagnostic scan tools, scopes, meters
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Go-getter attitude and desire to build new skills
