Tesla's Drive Unit Test Team is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the development and testing of cutting-edge powertrain systems for Semi-Trucks. Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Semi Truck Drive Unit
- Conduct visual and functional inspections of Semi-Truck drive units
- Install drive units on Dynamometers and analyze engineering prototypes
- Collaborate with test engineers to develop and execute test plans
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
- Document test results and inspection findings
- Maintain lab organization and safety standards
- Design, fabricate, and modify test fixtures and equipment
- Support lab expansion and testing activities
Requirements For Engineering Technician, Semi Truck Drive Unit
- Extensive practical experience in a similar role
- High Voltage training or knowledge of high voltage DC systems
- Proficient in mechanical fabrication
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with electronics lab tools
- Experience with wiring harness design and fabrication
- Strong understanding of physics and engineering fundamentals
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Experience with LabVIEW or Python is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
