Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician for Sensors & Data Acquisition to join their Instrumentation and Imaging Group. This role will support product validation of Tesla vehicles in development, including Cybertruck, Semi, and Next-Gen vehicles. The position involves performing and overseeing all instrumentation and data acquisition of components, sub-systems, and full vehicles in laboratory and proving ground environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, sourcing, and procuring required data acquisition and sensors
- Installing sensors and data acquisition hardware on vehicles
- Setting up data acquisition programs and validating sensor connectivity
- Maintaining sensor libraries and coordinating calibration activities
- Creating daily work plans to achieve test plan goals
- Designing custom brackets and fixtures
- Supporting testing activities and vehicle preparation
- Performing onsite support and testing while monitoring data
- Conducting basic data analysis and cleanup
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with vehicle instrumentation (Accelerometers, Loadcells, Pressure sensors, etc.)
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems (DTS, SOMAT, NI, DEWESOFT)
- Formal electronics training or equivalent work experience
- Ability to operate various tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong cooperative working relationships and multitasking skills
- Minimum 3 years of instrumentation and data acquisition experience
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel domestically (up to 50%)
