Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Optimus Test Team, focusing on the development and testing of their revolutionary humanoid robot. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of robotics technology in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

As a member of the Tesla Bot testing team, you'll be responsible for conducting crucial component, sub-system, and system-level testing of the Optimus Bot. The position requires strong mechanical and electrical hands-on skills, with duties ranging from building test fixtures to conducting material, performance, and reliability testing. You'll work alongside seasoned industry experts and collaborate with various engineering teams across disciplines.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of relevant testing experience and demonstrates proficiency with various tools and equipment. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential, as you'll be responsible for compiling test results and providing regular updates to stakeholders through Jira.

Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Testing, Tesla Bot

  • Build test fixtures and conduct component and system level tests
  • Compile, organize, and archive test results
  • Document and report issues identified during tests or inspections
  • Prepare and maintain test parts, devices and equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers to analysis issues discovered
  • Provide written and verbal test status updates to key stakeholders through Jira
  • Support engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition
  • Comply with safety policies and regulations

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Testing, Tesla Bot

  • 2+ years of experience with mechanical, electrical, or material testing
  • Ability to operate safely a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and lab equipment
  • Hands-on experience with test setup and execution
  • Experience with data collection software such as MS Excel
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with environmental stress testing or automated test systems
  • High awareness of safety procedures and practices
