Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Cabin Engineering Department in Fremont, California. The position involves working with various aspects of vehicle interior engineering, including seating structures, mechanisms, actuators, foam, wire harnesses, controllers, PCBs, sensors, and both soft & hard trim. The focus is on creating products that enhance spatial comfort while maintaining safety, ergonomics, and aesthetics for vehicle occupants.
As an Engineering Technician, you'll be responsible for coordinating developmental builds, assembling prototypes, preparing test samples, and supporting fabrication efforts both internally and with external partners. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate should have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experience (or less with dedicated build project experience). Experience in automotive engineering, particularly with seating and interiors, is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to work with various materials and create hand sketches is essential.
