This role is crucial in Tesla's Engineering Test Team, supporting reliability and durability testing conducted in-house. The position involves working with sophisticated testing equipment including electrodynamic shaker tables and multi-axis simulation systems.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and possess a strong foundation in both mechanical and electrical systems. You'll be responsible for conducting critical tests that ensure Tesla's components and systems meet the highest standards of quality and durability. Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Vibration & Road Simulation

  • Support vehicle & component level tests on simulation rigs
  • Perform test setup, detailed inspections, scheduling, maintenance and retrofits
  • Document and report issues identified during test or inspections
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve mechanical & electrical issues
  • Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates
  • Support Engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition setup and logging
  • Maintain test equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Vibration & Road Simulation

Linux
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and processes
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Basic machine shop skills (welding skills a plus)
  • Command of the English language
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to perform repetitious duties while standing for long periods
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs
