Description For Engineering Technician, Vibration & Road Simulation

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Engineering Test Team, focusing on vibration & road simulation testing for Reliability and Durability tests. This role is crucial for maintaining Tesla's high standards in vehicle testing and quality assurance. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation ranging from $24.40 to $50.40 per hour, plus additional cash and stock awards.

The role involves hands-on work with sophisticated testing equipment, including single axis electrodynamic shaker tables, MTS-329 road simulator, and MTS Multi axis simulation (MAST). The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and conducting component and system level tests, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Vibration & Road Simulation

  • Support vehicle & component level tests on simulation rigs
  • Perform test setup, detailed inspections, scheduling, maintenance and retrofits
  • Document and report issues identified during test or inspections
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve mechanical & electrical issues
  • Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates
  • Support Engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition setup and logging
  • Maintain test equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Vibration & Road Simulation

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and processes
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Basic machine shop skills
  • Command of the English language
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to perform repetitious duties while standing for long periods
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs
