Knowledge of advanced joining processes such as flow drill screw, clinching, and adhesive bonding is considered a plus.

Responsibilities For Equipment Engineer, Laser Welding

  • Stabilize structures welding process in manufacturing environment
  • Manage spares, monitor preventive maintenance
  • Ensure daily quality checks and documentation
  • Track and document process changes
  • Manage weld data, parameters, and software backups
  • Develop parameters for optimal weld cell performance
  • Improve quality/throughput/availability of weld cells
  • Train and develop technician team
  • Explore new technologies for equipment monitoring and improvements

Requirements For Equipment Engineer, Laser Welding

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience with welding and mechanical joining equipment
  • Experience in automotive and/or manufacturing industry
  • Experience with self pierce riveting and auto bolting
  • Experience in setting up mechanical joining monitoring systems
  • Experience in laser welding (preferred)
  • Experience in joining dissimilar materials (preferred)
  • Familiarity with CAD design and industrial manufacturing
