Description For Field Reliability Engineering Technician, High Voltage Battery

Tesla is seeking a Field Reliability Engineering Technician to join their High Voltage Battery team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is part of Tesla's Field Reliability Team, whose mission is to enhance product quality by identifying and resolving customer-facing issues through comprehensive analysis and collaboration with other Engineering teams.

Responsibilities For Field Reliability Engineering Technician, High Voltage Battery

  • Coordinate incoming hardware sent back for failure analysis
  • Perform sample preparation and inspection on electrical and electromechanical systems
  • Triage hardware for issues as requested by engineers
  • Support root cause analysis from issue identification to countermeasure implementation
  • Execute experiments to test theories about failure cause
  • Use analytical tools and techniques including cross-sectioning, electrical debug, X-Ray, microscopes

Requirements For Field Reliability Engineering Technician, High Voltage Battery

Linux
  • 1+ Year of industry experience in an analytical lab or similar manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent fine motor skills, including soldering and probing PCBAs
  • Strong experience with electrical test equipment: Power Supplies, Multimeter, Oscilloscopes
  • Fine electronics probing and solder skills
  • Proficient at reading schematics and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
