The Tesla Energy Product and Service Engineering team is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and skilled Field Service Engineer for Industrial Storage Commissioning to support the growth of their Industrial Storage fleet. This role involves leading the commissioning of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) of varying scales within the Utility, Commercial, and Industrial space, including microgrid applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading commissioning activities for projects both onsite and remotely
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and firmware issues during commissioning
- Supporting cross-functional efforts to resolve and prevent known issues
- Developing and evolving real-time service, diagnostic, and data analytics tools
- Creating and evolving commissioning documentation
- Quantifying and implementing product or manufacturing improvements
- Explaining technical issues and resolutions to customers
- Supporting the creation of service O&M documentation
The ideal candidate should have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong engineering fundamentals and intuition for firmware/software-enabled systems
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical/electronic and mechanical systems, software/firmware, SCADA/network, or process failure modes
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and collaborative skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in parallel
- Willingness to travel within the region for commissioning projects

The expected annual salary range for this position is $108,000 - $216,000, plus cash and stock awards.
