Responsibilities For Internship, Cell Materials Engineer, Cell Engineering (Summer 2025)

  • Document observations and present findings to technical audience
  • Support boulder R&D team through fabrication of small scale electrode coatings
  • Support development of cell test plans
  • Characterize initial cell performance, lifetime behavior, and reliability
  • Identify critical failures and degradation modes
  • Plan test resources, track test progress
  • Analyze and report testing results

Requirements For Internship, Cell Materials Engineer, Cell Engineering (Summer 2025)

Python
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
  • Experience with electrochemical and mechanical evaluation of battery electrode analysis techniques (Arbin, Maccor, Biologic, or similar)
  • Familiarity with degradation mechanisms of batteries and battery materials
  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar data analysis tool
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology and electrochemistry
  • First-principal physics understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site
  • Minimum commitment of 12 weeks
