Description For Internship, Correctness & Reliability Engineer, Dojo (Winter/Spring 2025)

Tesla is seeking a Correctness & Reliability Engineer Intern for their Dojo team, starting around January or February 2025 and continuing through the entire Spring term (i.e. through May 2025) or into Spring/Summer 2025 if available. This internship requires a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site commitment in Palo Alto, CA.

As a member of the Dojo Correctness and Reliability team, you will be responsible for building program analysis tools (fuzzers, compiler instrumentation passes, run-time monitoring components) for Tesla's in-house supercomputer. You'll join a small team of experienced developers in automating software and hardware testing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of tooling software for the compiler and hardware monitoring
  • Developing algorithms to improve sensitivity and performance of analysis tools
  • Debugging functional issues on massively parallel systems
  • Collaborating with Dojo HW and SW teams to understand the current architecture and propose future improvements
  • Working with the Autopilot SW team to ensure smooth transition of training from GPU to Dojo

The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field with a graduation date between 2025-2026. Strong C++ skills are absolutely required, and interest in or knowledge of bare metal is essential. Prior industry or research experience in compilers, program analysis, and/or hardware testing is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
