Internship, Data Analyst/Data Engineer, Energy (Winter/Spring 2025)

Tesla is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a Data Analyst/Data Engineer in the Energy division for Winter/Spring 2025. This internship is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and is expected to start in January 2025, continuing through the entire Spring term (April/May 2025) or potentially into Summer 2025. The position requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site.

The intern will work with various teams within the Energy division, including Asset Management, Service Transformation & Analytics, Service Engineering Data Analytics and Infrastructure, and Product Engineering. Key responsibilities include:

1. Deploying data pipelines for analytics in robust, efficient, and scalable frameworks
2. Building tools to help users summarize and explore data
3. Automating reporting and data quality checks
4. Performing advanced SQL queries on massive datasets
5. Creating and maintaining analytics dashboards using tools like Tableau and PowerBI
6. Developing and maintaining data ELT pipelines using Python and Airflow
7. Using Git and Jira for workflow tracking
8. Optimizing queries and improving underlying algorithms and infrastructure
9. Monitoring product performance and root cause analysis for design, process, or firmware failures

The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of SQL and Python, experience with Airflow, Spark, and big data processing, and familiarity with Git. A background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience is required. Scala experience is a plus.
