Internship, Data Engineer, Battery Development (Summer 2025)

Tesla is seeking a Data Engineering intern to join their Battery Development team for Summer 2025. This role is crucial to Tesla's mission of advancing electric vehicle technology through data-driven manufacturing processes. The intern will be part of the Battery Development Data team, whose mission is to empower data-driven decision making through manufacturing data environment. The team builds scalable data and software products, including advanced manufacturing process monitoring systems and self-service data analytical tools. The internship program at Tesla is designed to provide real-world experience working on critical projects. Interns work closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team, growing technically, professionally, and personally. The program requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, typically running from May 2025 through August 2025, with potential extension into Fall 2025.

The role involves supporting critical manufacturing process control system development, architecting and developing self-serve data science tools, performing exploratory analyses, and creating scalable data reporting tools. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields, with experience in data science projects and large volume data wrangling.
