Description For Internship, Electrical & Computer Engineer, Vehicle Hardware (Winter/Spring 2025)

Tesla is offering an exciting internship opportunity in Vehicle Hardware Engineering, specifically focusing on Electrical and Computer Engineering for Winter/Spring 2025. This role spans across multiple crucial teams including Autopilot Hardware, Display, Low Voltage Architecture, and Electronic Systems. Interns will work on cutting-edge technology in autonomous driving, vehicle electronics, and sensing systems.

The position offers hands-on experience in designing complex hardware systems that power Tesla's innovative vehicles and products. You'll be working alongside experienced engineers in either Fremont, Palo Alto, or Austin facilities, contributing to real projects that directly impact Tesla's product development. The internship requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

This is an exceptional opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Computer or Electrical Engineering to gain practical experience in automotive technology, robotics, and AI applications. You'll be exposed to various aspects of vehicle hardware engineering, from circuit design to system integration, while working with state-of-the-art equipment and tools.

Responsibilities For Internship, Electrical & Computer Engineer, Vehicle Hardware (Winter/Spring 2025)

  • Design complex, high-speed boards for autonomous driving capability
  • Work on LCD/OLED display electronic systems
  • Design low voltage architecture and circuitry for Tesla products
  • Develop and validate low voltage electronics systems
  • Design and implement systems for vehicle infotainment
  • Work on ADAS sensor products and connectivity features

Requirements For Internship, Electrical & Computer Engineer, Vehicle Hardware (Winter/Spring 2025)

Python
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCBA
  • Experience with PCB component selection
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis
  • Experience on using test and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, arbitrary waveform generators, VNA, etc
