Internship, Electronic Design Engineer, Tesla Bot (Winter/Spring 2025)

Tesla is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer Intern for the Tesla Bot project, starting around January 2025 and continuing through April 2025 or potentially into Summer 2025. This full-time (40 hours/week), on-site internship requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks. The position is part of Tesla's year-round internship program, which aims to develop emerging talent by providing hands-on experience with critical projects.

The intern will work with either the Robotic Systems Integration team or the Robotics Electronic Design & Circuitry team. The Robotic Systems Integration team focuses on electrical and hardware design, testing, and prototyping for Tesla Bot's power electronics. The Robotics Electronic Design & Circuitry team works on low voltage and power distribution systems, including controllers, sensors, actuators, batteries, and harnesses.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing full robot circuitry
• Documenting requirements, calculations, and design decisions
• Creating service documentation
• Participating in various aspects of Tesla Bot development

Requirements:

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCBA
• Experience with PCB component selection
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis
• Knowledge of serial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, etc.)
