Internship, Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing (Winter/Spring 2025)

Tesla is offering an Industrial Engineering internship for Winter/Spring 2025. This internship, lasting a minimum of 12 weeks, is full-time and on-site, starting around January or February 2025 and continuing through May 2025 or potentially into Spring/Summer 2025.

The Industrial Engineering Team at Tesla optimizes manufacturing and material flow processes by understanding factory objectives and collaborating with various teams. Interns will contribute to a world-class manufacturing facility, working in a fast-paced environment to improve critical subsystems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting work measurement studies for production equipment, conveyance, and human work
• Optimizing factory and material flow processes
• Developing layout and production line alternatives
• Performing trade-off, scenario, and sensitivity analyses
• Identifying factors impacting line throughput and making improvement recommendations

Ideal candidates should be pursuing a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or a related field. They should have exposure to lean manufacturing principles, comfort with high-expectation environments, and software skills including MySQL and Excel. Experience in production control, material flow, manufacturing, or related areas is a plus.
