Description For Internship, Launch Engineer, Manufacturing (Winter/Spring 2025)

Tesla is seeking a Launch Engineer Manufacturing Intern for Winter/Spring 2025 to join their dynamic team in Austin, Texas. This full-time, on-site internship requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, starting around January or February 2025. As part of the Launch Engineering Team, you'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges, validate production systems, and support new product launches.

The role involves coordinating and executing production line trials, managing cross-functional production launch activities, and supporting pre-production builds. You'll be responsible for testing and validating production systems and parts, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The position offers hands-on experience in Tesla's manufacturing operations, working directly with safety, design, product excellence, and various other departments.

Responsibilities For Internship, Launch Engineer, Manufacturing (Winter/Spring 2025)

  • Organize manufacturing validation activities for new or revised products
  • Ensure manufacturing trials preparation and control
  • Validate manufacturing processes to meet product specifications
  • Assist in root cause identification and solution building
  • Provide updates in weekly program and executive reviews
  • Track project milestones including task duration and resource usage
  • Create reports for critical path activities and schedules
  • Perform detailed analysis of problems and solutions
  • Ensure proper project close-out and cross-functional team handover

Requirements For Internship, Launch Engineer, Manufacturing (Winter/Spring 2025)

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field
  • PMP, PMI certificates or project management experience is helpful
  • Experience with design, development and implementation of projects
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional projects
  • Proficient at risk and resources management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in time critical and fast-paced product development
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
