Description For Internship, Validation Engineer Low Voltage Power Management, Vehicle Firmware (Summer 2025)

Tesla's Low Voltage Power Firmware Team is seeking an intern to join their vehicle power management division for Summer 2025. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on critical power distribution and management features for Tesla's innovative vehicle platforms. As an intern, you'll be immersed in designing and implementing firmware validation procedures, working with state-of-the-art testing equipment, and developing automation tools to ensure the quality and safety of Tesla's vehicles.

The position requires a minimum 12-week, full-time commitment and offers hands-on experience in hardware-in-loop (HIL) and software-in-loop (SIL) testing environments. You'll collaborate directly with development and integration teams, contributing to the reliability and robustness of Tesla's products while helping advance sustainable transportation solutions.

Responsibilities For Internship, Validation Engineer Low Voltage Power Management, Vehicle Firmware (Summer 2025)

  • Design, implement, validate, and maintain component-level testers (HIL and SIL)
  • Create software models of physical systems for Tesla vehicles
  • Work with development engineers on software validation infrastructure
  • Create reporting mechanisms for automated testing
  • Analyze complex software systems and create test strategies
  • Create and execute test plans
  • Report automated test coverage and evaluation metrics

Python
Rust
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Expected graduation date between August 2025-August 2026
  • Proficiency in Python and comprehension of C
  • Experience with Rust preferred
  • Experience in electronic and system schematic design (Altium Designer) preferred
  • Experience with HIL/SIL test setups preferred
  • Knowledge of source control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins) preferred
