Tesla is seeking a dynamic Joining Engineer for their Semi Body Manufacturing Engineering team in Sparks, Nevada. This role focuses on creating production processes for manufacturing body assemblies and battery enclosure. The ideal candidate will bring extensive theoretical and hands-on experience in various joining technologies and related equipment, along with proven experience in managing new product introductions and equipment projects.

Responsibilities For Joining Engineer, Body in White, Semi

  • Responsible for continues process optimization in current production environment
  • Lead and assist production in all quality and process related joining topics and issues
  • Support and assist Engineering and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting
  • Develop maintenance joining training program and conduct the training
  • Project management of internal maintenance and contractor projects
  • Develop & maintain proper PM documentation
  • Select and define required spare parts & consumables

Requirements For Joining Engineer, Body in White, Semi

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in automotive industry is highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with welding and mechanical joining equipment and processes
  • Experience in setting up and running mechanical joining monitoring systems
  • 5+ years in process monitoring and optimization
  • Experience in joining of dissimilar materials is preferred
