Tesla is seeking a Body in White (BIW) Manufacturing Engineer for their Semi Manufacturing Factory in Sparks, Nevada. This role is crucial for the development and deployment of manufacturing equipment and processes for Tesla's new Semi electric vehicles. Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer, Body in White, Semi

  • Coordinate with other engineers and manage complete manufacturing line projects
  • Develop line layouts
  • Develop specifications and RFQ's for custom automation equipment
  • Develop equipment testing plans and validate new equipment
  • Collaborate with internal and external equipment integrators
  • Drive design of production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency
  • Oversee equipment installation and coordinate with building and utilities team
  • Ramp new production equipment to meet designed throughput

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer, Body in White, Semi

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience with BIW manufacturing processes for large companies
  • Experience with industrial engineering concepts
  • Experience transitioning vehicle products from prototypes to production
  • Understanding of manufacturing equipment safety systems
  • Experience developing layouts in AutoCAD
  • Experience designing mechanical equipment in CAD (SolidWorks preferred, Catia is a plus)
