Description For Manufacturing Engineering Process Development Technician

Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join their Power Electronics & Energy Storage manufacturing team. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, increase product performance, and enhance manufacturing productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with engineers to develop, test, and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Installing, qualifying, and validating new equipment to meet quality and manufacturing standards
  • Analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes to boost productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality
  • Creating and maintaining accurate process documentation
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing process issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Training and supporting manufacturing staff on new processes and equipment

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering technician in an automated/semi-automated high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in common workplace software and SQL queries
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent English language skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies (a plus)

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineering Process Development Technician

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop, test, and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality products
  • Install, qualify, and validate new equipment to meet quality and manufacturing standards
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to boost productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality
  • Create and maintain accurate process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues, collect and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Train and support manufacturing staff on new processes and equipment

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineering Process Development Technician

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering technician in an automated/semi-automated high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in common workplace software (Microsoft Office, Visio, Access, etc.) and utilizing SQL queries to access the database and pull reports
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferred or equivalent experience
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal, with ability to collaborate across teams
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies a plus
