Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer to join their engineering team in a role critical to the design and development of new products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation and manufacturing excellence.

The role involves sophisticated computational analysis and statistical data techniques, working across various vehicle systems from battery cells to large castings and assemblies. You'll be utilizing specialized dimensional variation analysis software to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure world-class quality in all Tesla products.

As a Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer, you'll have the unique opportunity to influence both part and process design for high-volume manufacturing. The position offers extensive exposure to full vehicle development, working with cutting-edge technology and collaborating with multiple teams including Styling, Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality.

The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and CAE experience, with expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where your analysis and recommendations directly impact the quality and manufacturability of Tesla's innovative products.

This role offers competitive compensation ranging from $80,000 to $174,000 annually, plus additional cash and stock awards. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer

  • Dimensional CAE simulation using dedicated dimensional variation analysis software
  • Analyze and communicate dimensional requirements within engineering teams and global manufacturing
  • Work on mechanical design of vehicle systems from seats to battery packs and autopilot hardware
  • Participate in design programs from early concept to production ramp-up
  • Cross-functional interaction with Styling, Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality teams

Requirements For Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years' experience in Computer Aided Engineering, dimensional engineering, metrology, or CAE role
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Catia or similar CAD system experience
  • Comfortable with multi-variable capability analysis and statistical testing
  • Proficiency in 1D and 3D dimensional variation root cause analysis preferred
  • Familiarity GD&T and ASME Y14.5 preferred
