Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer to join their team in a critical role focused on engineering design and product development. This position is integral to simulating high-volume manufacturing and influencing part and process design to ensure world-class quality across all Tesla products. The role combines computational analysis expertise with statistical data analysis, covering everything from battery cell dimensional precision to large casting assemblies.

The position offers extensive exposure to various vehicle systems and involvement in multiple design programs, providing experience across the entire design cycle. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer

  • Dimensional CAE simulation using dedicated dimensional variation analysis software
  • Analyze and communicate dimensional requirements within engineering teams and global manufacturing
  • Work on mechanical design of vehicle systems from seats to battery packs and autopilot hardware
  • Participate in all stages of design cycle from concept to production
  • Cross-functional interaction with Styling, Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality teams

Requirements For Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years' experience in Computer Aided Engineering, dimensional engineering, metrology, or CAE role
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Catia or similar CAD system experience
  • Comfortable with multi-variable capability analysis and statistical testing
  • Proficiency in 1D and 3D dimensional variation root cause analysis preferred
  • Familiarity GD&T and ASME Y14.5 preferred
