Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Castings

  • Develop CAD design of new die cast tooling from concept through production
  • Provide feedback to Product Design Engineers
  • Incorporate input from Flow and Thermal Simulation Engineers
  • Capture feedback from Casting Process Engineers
  • Innovate new ideas to improve performance
  • Provide technical oversight of tooling suppliers
  • Assist in tooling design and fabrication schedules
  • Manage product design, die design, and die fabrication timelines

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Castings

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Mechanical design experience
  • Experience with aluminum High Vacuum High Pressure thin wall structural die casting tool design (preferred)
  • Strong to expert level 3D CAD skills
  • CATIA V5+ fluency preferred
