Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Castings to join their team in Fremont, California. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Castings
- Develop CAD design of new die cast tooling from concept through production
- Provide feedback to Product Design Engineers
- Incorporate input from Flow and Thermal Simulation Engineers
- Capture feedback from Casting Process Engineers
- Innovate new ideas to improve performance
- Provide technical oversight of tooling suppliers
- Assist in tooling design and fabrication schedules
- Manage product design, die design, and die fabrication timelines
Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Castings
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Mechanical design experience
- Experience with aluminum High Vacuum High Pressure thin wall structural die casting tool design (preferred)
- Strong to expert level 3D CAD skills
- CATIA V5+ fluency preferred
