Tesla's Chassis Design Engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team responsible for critical vehicle components including tires, wheels, suspension, brakes, and more. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge electric vehicle technology from concept to production.

The position involves comprehensive engineering work spanning design, analysis, sourcing, and validation of crucial chassis components. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Chassis

  • Develop and optimize designs in 3D CAD software with associated CAE tools
  • Validate manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility
  • Complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings
  • Validate components per defined engineering requirements
  • Resolve issues with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in sourcing process and manage supplier relationships
  • Deliver to defined schedules

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Chassis

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA is a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience with component design, analysis, and validation
  • Great technical and interpersonal communication
  • Evidence of being a self-starter
  • Prior experience in relevant engineering field valued
