The position combines creative design with technical engineering, requiring expertise in automotive interior systems while working alongside Tesla's Design/Styling and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Interiors

  • Engineer, develop and execute world-class interior systems
  • Work through the entire product cycle with critical input early in development
  • Participate in the iterative process with all stakeholders
  • Implement processes and material selections for automotive interior craftsmanship
  • Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs
  • Utilize DFSS methodologies during design, validation and launch
  • Collaborate with key interior system and plastic component suppliers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Tesla

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Interiors

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience in Product development / design engineering
  • First principles, physics-based thinker, and problem solver
  • Understanding of latest design technologies used in Product Engineering
  • Experience with complex assemblies, engineering principles in design, prototyping and production
