Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Interior Engineering team to join their Vehicle Engineering division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge electric vehicle interior systems at one of the world's leading automotive innovators. As part of Tesla's commitment to pushing boundaries, you'll be responsible for designing, engineering, and launching complete interior systems for future Tesla vehicle lines.

The position combines creative design with technical engineering, requiring collaboration with Tesla's Design/Styling teams and various stakeholders to achieve the perfect balance of form, function, and performance. You'll be working with a lean, agile team of top Product Engineers, focusing on developing complete systems rather than just components.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $92,720 to $206,520 annually, plus additional cash and stock awards. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Interiors

  • Engineer, develop and execute world-class interior systems
  • Work through the entire product cycle with critical input early in development
  • Participate in the iterative process with all stakeholders
  • Implement processes and material selections for automotive interior craftsmanship
  • Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs
  • Utilize DFSS methodologies during design, validation and launch
  • Collaborate with key interior system and plastic component suppliers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Tesla

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Interiors

  • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience in Product Development / Design Engineering
  • First principles, physics-based thinker, and problem solver
  • Understanding of latest design technologies used in Product Engineering
  • Experience with complex assemblies, engineering principles in design, prototyping and production
