This role presents an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge propulsion motors for both consumer vehicles and heavy trucking applications.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation, responsible for designing and implementing crucial motor components from concept to volume production. Key responsibilities include creating detailed 3D CAD and 2D drawings, driving technological choices in winding and magnet technologies, working with international suppliers, and ensuring designs meet production requirements. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Motors, Semi

  • Design 3D CAD and 2D drawings for stators, rotors, speed sensing and interconnect assemblies
  • Drive choices and development in winding technology, magnet technology, steel stamping and lamination joining
  • Identify and qualify suppliers of raw materials, components, and assemblies
  • Perform design validation and durability testing profile development and data analysis
  • Carry designs through to high-volume production
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and Interns

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Motors, Semi

  • Evidence of exceptional ability
  • Experience taking motor designs from clean sheet to volume production
  • Experience with multiple coil winding and termination technologies
  • Experience with multiple magnet technologies
  • Experience working with international supply chain
  • Automotive design and validation experience
  • Skills in GD&T, 3D CAD, 2D Drawings, DFMEA, PFMEA, structural and thermal FEA
