Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Motors, Semi

  • Design 3D CAD and 2D drawings for stators, rotors, speed sensing and interconnect assemblies
  • Drive choices in winding technology, magnet technology, steel stamping and lamination joining
  • Identify and qualify suppliers of raw materials, components, and assemblies
  • Conduct design validation and durability testing
  • Carry designs through to high-volume production
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and Interns

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Motors, Semi

  • Evidence of exceptional ability
  • Experience taking motor designs from clean sheet to volume production
  • Experience with multiple coil winding and termination technologies
  • Experience with multiple magnet technologies
  • Experience working with international supply chain
  • Automotive design and validation experience
  • Skills in GD&T, 3D CAD, 2D Drawings, DFMEA, PFMEA, structural and thermal FEA
  • Preferred: Catia, NVH analysis, electromagnetics design, specification writing
