The role combines mechanical engineering expertise with cross-functional collaboration to optimize product attributes including styling, cost, mass, manufacturability, and performance. Team members work closely with design engineering, styling, and manufacturing teams to develop compatible designs while ensuring product level attributes are optimized. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Vehicle Integration

  • Mechanical design and packaging of components to meet product and system level requirements
  • Lead product integration reviews and mediate trade-off situations
  • Lead packaging master section development supporting Class A surface development
  • Support and execute virtual builds, development buck, physical prototypes, and pre-series production
  • Manage top-level product CAD and BOM

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Vehicle Integration

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in vehicle system, energy products, high voltage battery or robot integration
  • Extensive understanding of design principles for functional vehicle systems design
  • Knowledge in part manufacturing processes from circuit boards to large castings
  • Outstanding design, packaging, and 3D modeling skills
  • CATIA experience (preferred)
  • Proven problem solving and strong communication skills
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools (preferred)
  • Passion for electric vehicles and energy efficiency
