Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to join their fast-growing team focused on revolutionizing the EV fast charging industry and commercial energy storage. As part of the Tooling, Process & Training team, you'll play a crucial role in developing hardware and processes for service & commissioning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge energy technologies while collaborating with diverse teams across the organization.

The role involves hands-on work with tool testing, process optimization, and documentation of safety and performance metrics. You'll be responsible for conducting detailed time studies, developing new service processes, and fabricating tool prototypes. The position requires strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, preferably in renewable energy or EV charging, and proficiency with CAD software.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Process Engineer

  • Own the testing and scaling of new and production tools in the field, collecting and analyzing performance feedback
  • Conduct time studies for field actions, documenting step durations
  • Develop and optimize new service processes
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders across various departments
  • Fabricate service tool prototypes from technical drawings

Requirements For Mechanical Process Engineer

Linux
  • Strong mechanical/electrical service knowledge, preferably in renewable energy or EV charging
  • Knowledge of CAD, Solidworks or Catia preferred
  • Hands-on tinkerer, modifier, and maker experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
