Description For Network Engineer, Infrastructure Network Engineering

Tesla is seeking a Network Engineer to join their Infrastructure Network Engineering team. This role specializes in network engineering in a semi-global enterprise environment, providing engineering, implementation, analytical, and operational support. The engineer will ensure compliance with established system architecture, regulations, and security policies, follow standards and best practices, and author and maintain support documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Staff/Senior Network Engineers on design and initiatives
  • Working closely with Nevada Manufacturing teams and Construction and Facilities
  • Maintaining current network solutions within workplace and R&D sites in the Greater Nevada area
  • Provisioning, implementing, testing/validating, and maintaining networking services
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting metrics of network services
  • Documenting network knowledgebase and operational "Run-Book"

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of experience in mid-large global enterprise networking infrastructure
  • Extensive experience in IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols, and various networking technologies
  • Experience with multi-vendor switching technologies and firewall services
  • Proficiency in various networking tools and scripting for automation
  • CCNA/JNCIA Enterprise certification (preferred)

This role requires on-site presence Monday to Friday in Sparks, Nevada, with occasional weekend, after-hours, and holiday work. The position involves active on-site duties, including walking good distances.
