Responsibilities For Performance Modeling Engineer, Inverter

  • Develop an inverter modeling framework for managing key project deliverables and automating reports
  • Work with experimental data to develop thermal system and power semiconductor models
  • Participate in system level studies to optimize inverter performance
  • Collaborate with Thermal System Designers, Inverter Firmware Developers, and Reliability Engineers
  • Use drive unit dynamometers to test inverter operation and validate loss models
  • Communicate modeling results to drive architecture, cost, and performance initiatives

Requirements For Performance Modeling Engineer, Inverter

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and two years industry experience or equivalent
  • Experience with advanced model development in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Excellent understanding of power semiconductors and power converters
  • Experience with large datasets and complex models
  • Excellent first-principal physics understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Hands on experience with power-semiconductor double pulse testing
  • Proficient with common electronic test equipment
