Description For Power Systems Engineer, HIL

Tesla is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join their team in building the power system of the future with clean and sustainable energy. This role focuses on designing, modeling, and integrating Tesla's solar-battery-charging ecosystem. The position involves developing in-house modeling and controller-hardware-in-loop (CHIL) testing capabilities for energy storage, solar, and electric charging systems at mass scales.

The role requires interfacing with utilities, independent power providers, and system operators in technical power systems discussions. You'll influence systems design to facilitate scaling on the grid and be responsible for developing detailed models of technology and controls strategies for grid operations and microgrids of different sizes.

As a Power Systems Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment, contributing to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $112,000 to $234,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with matching, and stock purchase options.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with HIL tools, power system modeling, and programming languages like Python, Rust, or Go. This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about sustainable energy and power systems to make a significant impact in the industry while working with a leading innovative company.
