Description For Power Systems Engineer, HIL

Tesla is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join their team in building the future of clean and sustainable energy. This role focuses on developing and testing power systems for Tesla's solar-battery-charging ecosystem. The position involves creating detailed models and performing controller-hardware-in-loop (CHIL) testing for energy storage, solar, and electric charging systems at mass scales.

The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of electrical engineering, controls, and grid operations, interfacing with utilities and system operators to influence systems design and facilitate scaling on the grid. This is a dynamic role that requires expertise in power systems modeling, real-time simulations, and automation.

As a Power Systems Engineer at Tesla, you'll be responsible for ensuring that Tesla's energy products meet both design specifications and project requirements through sophisticated modeling and testing. You'll work with cutting-edge technology in Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $112,000 to $234,000 annually, plus additional cash and stock awards. Tesla provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with employer match, and various family-support benefits. The role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and offers the opportunity to work with world-class engineers and contribute to meaningful environmental impact.

This role is perfect for someone who combines technical expertise in power systems and control theory with strong communication skills and a passion for sustainable energy. You'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing solutions that enable the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid at scale.
