Description For Powerwall Product Engineer

As a Powerwall Product Engineer at Tesla, you will be a key member of the Tesla Energy Products team within the Service Engineering organization. Your role will involve utilizing fleet data and engineering fundamentals to monitor and enhance product performance. You'll be responsible for identifying and root-causing key design, process, or firmware failures in Tesla's fleet of renewable energy hardware, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve these issues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and running data queries on fleet logs for root cause analysis
  • Working with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive design and manufacturing improvements
  • Defining data signatures for failure identification and integrating this knowledge into algorithms
  • Providing support on escalated customer cases to minimize system downtime
  • Working with customer-facing teams to provide guidance, documentation, and training

This role offers the opportunity to work on both existing and new product lines within the residential energy space. You'll be at the forefront of Tesla's efforts to revolutionize sustainable energy solutions.

Key qualifications include:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with power electronics design/failure analysis
  • Proficiency in data analysis using Python, SQL, and visualization tools
  • Understanding of electrical systems, including inverters, batteries, and solar PV arrays
  • Experience with firmware release management
