Tesla is seeking a Product Engineer for their Charging team to ensure industry-leading uptime for their EV charging products. This role combines data analysis with engineering expertise to monitor and improve product performance across Tesla's charging hardware fleet. The position involves working with cross-functional teams to analyze fleet data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions ranging from firmware updates to hardware design changes. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering fundamentals, experience with EV charging systems, and excellent data analysis skills using Python. Responsibilities For Product Engineer, Charging
- Develop and run data queries on fleet logs for root cause analysis
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to drive design and manufacturing changes
- Define data signatures to identify failures and integrate into automated detection algorithms
- Provide support on escalated customer cases
- Perform root cause analysis on hardware failures, firmware bugs, and system integration
- Perform validation and sign-off for new products and features
Requirements For Product Engineer, Charging
- Degree in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience
- Strong engineering fundamentals and intuition for firmware/software-enabled mechatronic systems
- Experience with electric vehicle charging hardware and protocols/standards
- Experience debugging complex electrical systems
- Strong data analysis skills with Python experience
- Excellent oral, written communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple parallel tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Less than 10% work travel required
