Description For Product Manager, Industrial Energy Hardware & Firmware

Tesla is seeking a Product Manager for Industrial Energy Hardware & Firmware to join their rapidly growing energy products team. As a key member of the Hardware and Firmware Product Management team, you will define and commercialize product offerings for B2B energy storage solutions (Megapack and Powerpack) across utilities, commercial & industrial, and microgrid segments. You'll develop market and product requirements, manage technical content, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong background in commercial and engineering topics, with product management experience highly desired. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your creativity, passion, and desire to break new ground in the evolving technology landscape of sustainable energy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining product vision and strategy based on market research and customer feedback
  • Creating business cases and product requirements to inform roadmap priorities
  • Driving continuous product improvement initiatives
  • Commercializing offerings into standardized, sellable products
  • Developing technical content for internal and external use
  • Leading cross-functional techno-commercial discussions on fleet decisions

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in product management, preferably in the energy industry
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A deep passion for revolutionizing energy use on the electric grid

  • Leverage market research, competitive diligence and customer feedback to define product vision and strategy
  • Create business cases and market & product requirements to inform the product roadmap priorities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the product based on data-driven insights and feedback
  • Define and commercialize offerings into standardized, sellable products
  • Develop and drive implementation of technical content
  • Lead or support cross-functional techno-commercial discussions on fleet decisions that affect Tesla and/or customer P&L

  • Experience in product management spanning hardware and firmware, preferably in the energy industry
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with commercial and technical stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across many teams, in a short timeframe
