Description For Reliability Engineer, Cameras & Sensors

Tesla is seeking a Reliability Engineer with expertise in cameras and sensors to join their reliability team. This role involves designing reliability into groundbreaking products, following the reliability lifecycle from concept to field operation. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams, identify risks in emerging designs and architectures, create test plans, and provide reliability analyses to improve product reliability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying reliability methods to design accelerated test plans for design validation
  • Analyzing field usage and environmental conditions to optimize requirements and test methods
  • Generating process validation test plans and driving corrective actions with suppliers
  • Facilitating design FMEA sessions to assess product risks and drive reliable design choices
  • Working with various teams to identify and resolve root causes of failures
  • Providing reliability design guidelines and applying lessons learned for continuous improvement

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with assemblies converting digital signals into physical signals
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical & electrical properties of materials and failure mechanisms
  • Understanding of Highly Accelerated testing methods and acceleration models
  • Experience with reliability statistics and statistical software
  • Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques
  • Self-driven attitude with ability to manage parallel tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Apply reliability methods to design accelerated test plans for design validation and reliability growth

Requirements For Reliability Engineer, Cameras & Sensors

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience working on assemblies that convert digital signals into physical signals
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical & electrical properties of materials and failure mechanisms for cameras and sensors
  • Understanding of Highly Accelerated testing methods and governing equations for different types of acceleration models
  • Experience with developing reliability guidelines and inventing novel ways of reliability testing
  • Working knowledge of reliability statistics including Weibull analysis, and experience with statistical software
  • Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques
  • Self-driven and focused individual with ability to manage parallel tasks effectively
  • Proven ability to remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances
