Responsibilities For Robotics Mechanical Plastics Design Engineer, Tesla Bot
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for high-volume production
- Determine component-level mechanical requirements
- Apply analytical methods for design and optimization
- Perform tolerance analysis
- Perform material and process selection for high-volume production
- Work with injection molding suppliers and tool designers
- Drive product launch phases
- Conduct should-cost analysis
- Manage suppliers to execute projects
Requirements For Robotics Mechanical Plastics Design Engineer, Tesla Bot
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics or equivalent industry experience
- Experience shipping consumer-grade products at rates in the millions of units per year
- Deep knowledge of material science and high-volume manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software
- Proficiency in drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis
