Tesla is seeking a Silicon & Systems Validation Engineer to join their Autopilot Hardware team in Palo Alto. This role focuses on developing Post-Silicon validation plans, tools, and infrastructure for Tesla's custom SoCs and platforms for vehicles and data centers. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive and AI technology, specifically in the development and validation of custom silicon solutions for Tesla's Autopilot system.

The role combines hardware and software expertise, requiring deep understanding of Silicon Architecture and PCIe controller and PHY designs. Responsibilities For Silicon & Systems Validation Engineer, AP Hardware

  • Bring up and characterize Autopilot Custom Silicon and PCBA
  • Collaborate with diverse teams in hardware design, schematic reviews, firmware development, and building automated test infrastructures
  • Write test plans, develop test cases, and catch design bugs before production
  • Characterize and improve power and performance consumption at a system level
  • Perform Failure Analysis on CM and field return units
  • Write firmware & driver code for platform bring-up and stress-testing

Requirements For Silicon & Systems Validation Engineer, AP Hardware

Linux
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent major with 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in PCIe Gen6 bringup and validation of SOCs, switches, network, and datacenter applications
  • Familiar with design/debug of ARM or x86 System on Chip Architectures
  • Experience in Silicon bringup and validation, and PCBA/Platform debug
  • Experience with Statistical Data Analysis and Design of Experiments
  • Experience with Electrical Testing and Protocol Analyzer equipment
  • Familiar with Linux OS and Scripting
